Galaxy AI expands with Perplexity integration on upcoming Samsung flagships

Samsung Electronics has announced a significant expansion of its Galaxy AI ecosystem, with the spotlight now on the integration of Perplexity AI as a new multi agent partner across upcoming flagship Galaxy devices.
The move reinforces Samsung’s long-term strategy of building an open, system-level AI experience rather than limiting intelligence to standalone apps. Galaxy AI is designed to operate at the framework level of the operating system, understanding user context and reducing the need to jump between apps or repeat commands. Now, with Perplexity entering the mix, the ecosystem becomes even more dynamic.

Perplexity will be accessible via a dedicated voice wake phrase, “Hey Plex,” or through quick-access controls such as pressing and holding the side button. More importantly, its integration goes beyond simple query responses. Deep embedding across core Samsung apps — including Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder and Calendar — allows users to execute smoother multi-step workflows without manually managing each app. This creates a more fluid experience, where AI acts as an orchestrator rather than just a tool.
Samsung cites growing user behavior trends showing that nearly 80% of users now rely on more than two AI agents in their daily routines. By supporting multiple AI agents within one cohesive environment, Galaxy AI positions itself as a flexible hub that adapts to different user needs.
Further details on device availability are expected soon, but this expansion clearly signals Samsung’s ambition to redefine how AI operates across the smartphone experience.
