Galaxy A17 5G and A07 to Receive 6 Years of OS and Security Updates, Says Samsung
Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy A17 5G and Galaxy A07 LTE in Malaysia, expanding its Galaxy A series lineup. Both devices are designed to offer essential smartphone features at affordable price points, with extended software support promised for up to six Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
The Galaxy A17 is powered by the Exynos 1330 processor and features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. It includes a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. On the back, the phone houses a triple camera setup comprising a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera, while the front has a 13MP camera.
The device also integrates some of Samsung’s newer AI experiences, such as Gemini voice activation via a long press on the side button, hands-free interaction through Gemini Live, and Circle to Search.
In comparison, the Galaxy A07 LTE is a more basic model powered by the MediaTek G99 chipset. It also has a 6.7-inch screen, but uses an HD+ LCD panel instead. The refresh rate remains at 90Hz. Its dual rear camera setup consists of a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor, with an 8MP camera at the front. Like the A17, it includes a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging.
Samsung Galaxy A17 5G and A07 price in Malaysia
The Galaxy A17 is available in two configurations: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage for RM899, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage for RM999. As part of an early bird promotion, buyers can receive a RM100 rebate from 5th to 30th September at the Samsung Online Store, Experience Stores, authorized retailers, and participating e-commerce platforms.
The Galaxy A07 will come in 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB options, although pricing has not yet been confirmed. Both models are available in Malaysia starting 5th September 2025.
Samsung has also confirmed that a separate Galaxy A17 LTE variant will be released on 26th September.
