Dyson HushJet Mini Cool: 38mm portable fan with 6hrs of battery life, coming to Malaysia
Dyson has introduced the HushJet Mini Cool, its first portable handheld fan designed for flexible cooling on the go. Built for handheld, desk, or wearable use, the compact fan weighs just 212g and offers up to six hours of use via its 5000mAh battery.
The HushJet Mini Cool uses Dyson’s HushJet air projection system to deliver airflow speeds of up to 25m/s, powered by a brushless DC motor that spins at up to 65,000 RPM. Users can choose from five airflow speeds, along with a Boost mode for maximum cooling when needed. The focused airflow design is intended to provide fast cooling without requiring a large fan body.
A key design detail is Dyson’s continued use of a 38mm diameter format, which the company describes as central to its compact engineering philosophy. The same measurement has been used in products such as the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer and the Dsyon PencilVac, allowing Dyson to develop smaller components without sacrificing performance.
Dyson says that noise reduction was also a focus in the fan’s design. The HushJet nozzle is engineered to reduce turbulence and lower high-frequency noise, with the fan making only around 52 dBA at its lowest speed, increasing to 72.5 dBA when running in Boost mode. The fan can be used in a few different ways too: handheld for when you’re out and about, or as a desktop fan with the included stand.
Each unit comes with a lanyard, charging stand, USB-C cable, and travel pouch. Optional accessories planned for release later include a universal mount designed to attach the fan to items such as strollers, as well as a grip clip that allows it to be secured to bag straps or clothing.
The Dyson HushJet Mini Cool so far is not yet available in Malaysia, but is already up on the Dyson Malaysia website, and if you’re interested you can sign up to get news on its arrival. Do be warned however that it won’t be cheap; the Dyson HushJet Mini Cool currently retails at USD99 in North America, which is roughly RM392.73.
