Is it a projector? It is a TV? What exactly is the new Hisense PX2-Pro?

By Timothy Teoh September 21, 2023

Hisense announced a refreshed lineup of catalogue for the year 2023 in its Go Tech and Beyond event launch earlier today. The event saw a slew of new Hisense products set to hit the market, including 4K UHD TVs, 4-door refrigerators, Washer Dryers, and Air Conditioners.

Among them was also the PX-2 Pro, a projector-like device that’s able to cast content onto a TV or a screen.

Hisense is adamant that it is not a projector, insisting instead that it is a Laser Cinema. Unlike most projectors which requires a considerable amount of distance between the screen and projector, the Laser Cinema only needs to be a few inches away from the screen.

This isn’t Hisense’s first laser cinema, as the current PX1-Pro is still in production today. However, the PX2-Pro serves to be the upgraded bigger brother.

The PX2-Pro features 4K UHD picture quality, enhanced by Triple Colour Laser Light Source for vibrant imagery. It also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, the latter of which you will hear via the built-in 30W front-firing speakers.

In total, the PX2-Pro will give you a whopping 90″ – 130″ Super Big Screen for your home theatre setup.

Pricing for the Hisense PX2-Pro Laser Cinema has yet to be revealed. If it were to follow the pricing of the PX1-Pro when it first launched, you can expect it to be in the region of RM15,000.
