CIMB OCTO App to drop support for Android 9 and iOS 12 starting 25 June
CIMB has updated the minimum supported operating system for the CIMB OCTO app. According to the official announcement, the CIMB OCTO app will only be available on devices running Android 10 or above, or iOS 15 or above. This requirement will take effect on 25 June 2025.
Previously, the minimum OS requirement for the app was Android 9 or iOS 12 or above. Now that the bank is set to drop support for these operating systems, CIMB urges customers to update their devices to continue using the CIMB OCTO app.
In a separate announcement, CIMB also confirmed that Post Transaction Alert (PTA) notifications will no longer be sent via SMS. Instead, all PTA notifications will be delivered via push notifications on the CIMB OCTO app starting 17 May 2025. This applies to all transactions performed on CIMB Clicks Web and CIMB OCTO app.
