CelcomDigi announces RM1 million fund to improve pickleball courts in Malaysia

CelcomDigi is joining the pickleball train, as the telco announces their new CelcomDigi Pickleball Fund. This RM1 million allocation is aimed at supporting the continued development of Malaysia’s pickleball ecosystem, disbursed in phases with the aim of improving the quality and access to pickleball courts across Malaysia.
The CelcomDigi Pickleball Fund offers tiered funding support, which includes both cash and equipment across several different categories depending on court sizes and development needs.

Smaller pickleball facilities with three or lower courts can apply for up to RM5,000 in cash and equipment, while medium sized operators with four to six courts can get up to RM10,000. Larger places with seven or more courts can apply for up to RM15,000. The first pickleball court to get funding under this initiative is 9Pickle Mines, located in The Mines.

What’s in it for CelcomDigi you might ask? Well it’s pretty simple: advertising. As mentioned on the CelcomDigi Pickleball Fund website, these court upgrades will come with the requirement that your pickleball courts carry the CelcomDigi yellow and blue branding.

“For CelcomDigi, connectivity extends to bringing people together in meaningful ways by supporting the communities and shared communal spaces. This initiative goes beyond physical upgrades, it is about supporting court operators to continue delivering improved playing environments, while enabling more Malaysians to stay active, develop their skills, and enjoy the sport in spaces they feel comfortable returning to.
Through this initiative, we aim to enhance the overall playing experience and support both court owners and players, contributing to a safer and more inclusive pickleball ecosystem,” – Chan May Ling, Head of Brand and Marketing Services, CelcomDigi
