BYD ATTO 2 Electric SUV Arrives in Malaysia Starting from RM100K
Remember the BYD teasers featuring the smirking capybara posted a few weeks ago? Perhaps the “Don’t worry, be capy” slogan might jog your memory. Well, it turns out we were right in assuming that it was all to set the stage for a new BYD model in Malaysia.
Now, we can finally reveal that it was indeed the BYD ATTO 2 being teased. BYD Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD cars in Malaysia, has officially unveiled its all-new electric compact SUV.
The capybara, along with the pickleball-themed items, are subtle nods to the relaxed, fun, and social lifestyle embodied by the ATTO 2. Today’s unveiling even saw the capybara mascot make an entrance at the event.
But moving on to the car itself, the ATTO 2 offers a 410 km driving range, powered by a 51.13 kWh battery. It features a 130 kW electric motor delivering 290 Nm of torque. BYD claims the ATTO 2 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds.
When it comes time to charge, the compact SUV includes a 7 kW AC onboard charger and supports 82 kW DC charging via CCS2.
Inside, you’ll find a 12.8″ rotating touchscreen with built-in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, supporting both wired and wireless connections. White, Breeze Green, and Harbour Grey. The ATTO 2 is available in three colours: Ski White, Breeze Green, and Harbour Grey.
BYD ATTO 2 price in Malaysia
The BYD ATTO 2 starts at RM100,000 in Malaysia. To sweeten the deal for early buyers, the first 800 customers will receive an easy ownership package that includes RM0 instalments for the first 6 months, available exclusively through Sime Motors’ panel bank.
