Borderlands 4 Preorders Go Live with RM239 Base Price, Avoiding $80 Controversy

Originally, Borderlands 4 had the possibility of being priced at $80, at least based on posts seen on X by Gearbox’s head honcho, Randy Pitchford. As it turns out, that isn’t actually the case after preorders for the game has gone live.
Borderlands 4 Preorders Now Open

Borderlands 4 is now officially available for preorder, and contrary to earlier concerns, the base edition is priced at RM239 ($69.99/£59.99/€69.99) on Steam—avoiding the controversial $80 price point that previously sparked backlash within the gaming community.
Players looking for more content can opt for the Deluxe Edition at RM329 ($99.99) or the Super Deluxe Edition at RM429 ($129.99), with each tier offering progressively more digital content, including cosmetic items, new characters, additional regions, and story expansions.

Publisher Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that additional post-launch DLC content will be revealed at a later date. While the pricing has been met with general approval from fans, particularly in the US and EU regions, some international players have expressed frustration over higher local pricing.
Despite previous controversy sparked by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford’s earlier remarks and speculation about potential pricing strategies, Borderlands 4 has quickly climbed Steam’s top seller list, signaling strong early demand ahead of its release.
