The Coolest Phone Brand Crossovers That Have Happened Over the Years

By Timothy Teoh October 8, 2025

Every now and then, a phone brand partners with another brand or franchise so far out of its usual scope that it becomes fun. From realme’s retro-inspired Coca-Cola collaboration to Samsung’s special edition Star Wars phones, here are some of the best phone partnerships that have happened over the years.

realme x Coca Cola

It was a partnership that fizzed seemingly out of the blue, but realme’s collaboration with Coca-Cola turned out to be one of the more eye-catching ones out there. The realme 10 Pro 5G Coca-Cola Edition smartphone was a 2023 special, styled — in some ways — like a Coca-Cola can.

It featured a simplistic yet pronounced theme that went beyond just the design. A customized UI based on Coca-Cola’s bubble motif was peppered throughout the software, and it even had the famous tssSS-kr-POP! can-opening sound available for notifications.

This realme x Coca-Cola special was released in only five countries: Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India.

HONOR x Porsche

The HONOR and Porsche collaboration is one that would capture the attention of any speed-loving race car enthusiast. This isn’t a one-off spin-off either — the partnership has produced the Magic V2 RSR and Magic6 RSR phones.

The latest of the lineup is the Magic7 RSR PORSCHE DESIGN which, like its predecessors, was inspired by Porsche’s RSR racing cars. What makes this unique is that HONOR willingly puts its Magic phones through a design overhaul, rather than just slapping on a fresh coat of paint over the back panel.

The most prominent change was in the camera housing, with the PORSCHE DESIGN featuring a hexagonal module instead of the standard circular one. The phone also has Porsche-style peak lines that underscore the design further and inject an added sense of speed.

OnePlus x McLaren

Lasting from just 2018 to 2020, OnePlus’ partnership with McLaren was short-lived and drew a fair amount of criticism. But if there’s one win they can claim, it’s the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition.

Right off the starting line, it’s clear you’re getting something McLaren-affiliated. The phone comes in a box splashed in Papaya Orange — a colour signature to the automaker’s legacy. As for the limited-edition OnePlus 7T Pro, it’s mostly black, with silver carbon patterns embedded underneath the glass panel that reveal themselves only when light shines on them. With a bit of imagination, it vaguely resembles the outline of a Formula One car.

The phone is sprinkled with orange accents — notably around the camera module, buttons, and even along the edge of the bottom half of the phone.

Samsung x Star Wars

Back in the good ol’ days when the Galaxy Note series still existed and the built-in S Pen silo was revolutionary, Samsung went all in with a partnership with arguably the greatest movie franchise ever — Star Wars.

The Galaxy Note10+ Star Wars Edition was released in conjunction with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. The entire package followed a Dark Side theme, including a leather case engraved with Kylo Ren’s helmet. The box even came with a special edition of black and red Galaxy Buds.

The phone’s design wasn’t loud — it was fully black, save for the lightly engraved First Order and Star Wars logos on the rear panel. Red accents stood out on the buttons and camera module. But the real kicker? Even the S Pen came in red, symbolic of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. A fun little gimmick was the lightsaber unsheathing sound that played whenever the pen was inserted or removed from the silo.

Xiaomi x Iron Man

Marvel might have ended the Iron Man franchise (for now), but the spirit of Tony Stark lives on in the POCO X7 Pro Iron Man Edition. This relatively new partnership launched in January 2025 under Xiaomi’s online-exclusive sub-brand, POCO.

It is unabashedly Iron Man from head to toe — and honestly, I wouldn’t blame you if you said it was gaudy and over-the-top. But my guess is that Iron Man fans would’ve gone wild for this if it had been officially sold here.

The phone showcases 3D relief detailing of Iron Man’s iconic gold helmet, along with an embossed outline of the Arc Reactor. There’s startling attention to detail in the deep red hues across the rear panel — even down to the Arc Reactor-shaped SIM ejector, which has the tiny words “Proof That Tony Stark Has a Heart” inscribed on the back.
