Battista Cinquantacinque Proves EVs Can Be Cool Too

May 11, 2024

Whoever said EVs do not appeal to the 9-year-old in us clearly never set their eyes on the Battista Cinquantacinque. Designed by world renowned automotive design house Automobili Pininfarina, it features elegant, swooping curves that allow it to carve a way through the air like a hot knife through butter.

A collaborative effort between Automobili Pininfarina and SKY GROUP as its retail partner based in Tokyo, this limited run of special liveried Battista Cinquantacinque will be offered in Japan with a client experience that is like no other. Every hand-crafted vehicle built in Italy and bound for the land of the rising Sun, will match the individual client’s personality.

“Our entry to the Japanese market is an exciting milestone for Automobili Pininfarina as we continue to expand our global footprint. Japan is renowned for its rich automotive culture and discerning clientele, who appreciate artistry, performance, and innovation”, said Paolo Dellachà, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina.

Battista Cinquantacinque’s design is inspired by the 1955 Lancia Florida, and the bodywork is painted in Blu Savoia Gloss contrasted by the Bianco Sestriere Gloss roof and brushed anodized jewelry pack. As for the interior, it features bespoke Poltrona Frau Heritage leather.

Cinquantacinque, which means 55 in Italian, has been included in various parts of the car’s livery. These unique inscriptions honor the 1955 Lancia Florida, styled by Carrozzeria Pininfarina. The passenger door plate and active rear wing both are adorned with the ‘Cinquantacinque 55’ signature.

Under the incredibly attractive exterior are four independent electric motors that produced a combined output of 1,900hp or 1,416kW of power and 2,340Nm of torque. Juice is supplied to these motors by the 120kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

As such, the car can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 1.86 seconds and reach 200km/h in 4.75 seconds. Despite the high-performance figures, on a full charge, the Battista Cinquantacinque can cover 476km on a full charge, which is impressive considering what it’s designed for.

The Battista Cinquantacinque is destined to turn heads everywhere it goes. All examples are meant for Japan, but we hope more of them make it to other regions, so that we can enjoy this amazing sports car.
