Bank Islam To Replace SMS OTP with BIMB Secure Starting 15 July 2025

Bank Islam has announced that starting 15 July 2025, online transactions made using Bank Islam Card-i (Debit and Credit) will no longer use SMS One-Time Password (OTP). Instead, all transactions will require verification through BIMB Secure, a push notification feature in the BIMB Mobile App.

When making an online purchase, users will receive a push notification via the BIMB Mobile App. They must review the transaction details and tap “Authorize” or “Reject”. If the transaction is not recognised, users are advised to press “Reject” immediately to stop the transaction.

Only one mobile device can be linked to the BIMB Mobile App for transaction approvals. BIMB Secure will be activated automatically after the first-time setup of the app.

This change is aimed at reducing fraud risks and improving transaction security. For more information, users can visit https://web.bimb.com.
