ASUS unveils new Zenbook A14 powered by Snapdragon X Series CPU

By Timothy Teoh February 19, 2025

ASUS Malaysia has expanded its Zenbook catalogue with the unveiling of the latest Zenbook A14 laptops. The launch marks a few firsts in the series, including being the first Zenbook model powered by the Snapdragon X Series processor and the lightest 14″ Copilot+ PC on the market.

The Snapdragon processors are very much at the forefront of the AI era, boasting 45 TOPS thanks to the Hexagon NPU.

The Zenbook A14 is available in two models: an OLED model and a non-model OLED, both of which sports ASUS’ Ceraluminium material in their chassis.

Starting with the non-OLED model, it features the Snapdragon X processor, supported by 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB SSD. For visuals, it relies on a 14″ FHD+ (1920×1200) 100% sRGB display with 400nits maximum brightness. When unplugged, the laptop runs on a 48Wh li-ion battery.

In terms of connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. It also has healthy array of ports with 2x USB Type-C (supports DP and Power Delivery), 1x USB 3.2 Type-A, 1x HDMI 2.1, as well as 1x audio combo jack.

Weighing in at only 899g, this is an ideal option for the on-the-go workforce.

Moving on to the Zenbook A14 powered by the Snapdragon X Elite, this laptop is touted as the lightest 14″ Copilot+ PC on the market, weighing only 980g. Here’s where you’ll find glossy visuals with the 14″ OLED panel offering FHD+ (1920×1200) resolution. Compared to its counterpart, it boasts a higher 600nits peak HDR brightness, a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, and a TUV Rheinland-certified display for eye comfort.

Similarly, it is equipped with 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB SSD.

You’ll get the same array of ports as the non-OLED model, but connectivity is notably better with support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It also offers longer battery life thanks to its 70Wh li-ion battery.

ASUS Zenbook A14 (UX3407) price in Malaysia

The ASUS Zenbook A14 is available in two colours: Zabriskie Beige and Iceland Gray. The non-OLED Zenbook A14 is priced at RM4,999 in Malaysia, while the higher spec OLED model running the Snapdragon X Elite processor is priced at RM5,999.

The ASUS Zenbook A14 will be available starting 7th March, with exclusive early bird promos running until 31st March. During this period, purchases for the laptop will come bundled with the ASUS ZenScreen MB166B worth RM700 (while stocks last).

HUAWEI debuts new open-ear style headphones with FreeArc

By Timothy Teoh February 18, 2025

It’s an event full of firsts in HUAWEI’s latest innovative product launch. Not only did they launch the world’s first-ever tri-folding smartphone, but the brand also unveiled its new open-ear-style headphones, the FreeArc.

Compared to the existing FreeClip earphones, the FreeArc features a design more typical of sports-focused open-ear headphones. That said, they do share a similarity.

HUAWEI says it borrowed the C-bridge hook concept from the FreeClip and integrated it into the FreeArc. However, the FreeArc’s hooks are structured with 0.7mm Nickel-Titanium (Ni-Ti) memory alloy and layered with skin-friendly liquid silicone to maximize comfort.

Powering audio quality is the 17 x 12 mm highly-sensitive driver unit in each earbud, symmetrical acoustic structure, dynamic bass algorithm, and Adaptive Equal-loudness Algorithm, all of which aims to enhance audio performance.

The FreeArc has an IP57 water resistance rating, making it more than capable of handling sweaty workouts and light drizzles.

In terms of battery life, HUAWEI claims the headphones will last up to 7 hours on a single charge, with a total of 28 hours when using the charging case.

The HUAWEI FreeArc is available in Black, Green, and Grey.

    HUAWEI FreeArc price in Malaysia

The HUAWEI FreeArc is priced at RM599 in Malaysia. Pre-orders will run from now until 24 March, with exclusive freebies worth RM327. Freebies include the HUAWEI Band 8, a 1+1 year warranty, and 2 year loss care.

You can pre-order the FreeArc at HUAWEI Experience Stores and official website, as well as on the brand’s official Shopee and Lazada stores.
