ASUS ROG Zephyrus gets a nifty new redesign in 2024

January 22, 2024

ASUS’ Transcend Beyond launch saw the unveiling of its new laptop lineup for 2024, including the updated Zenbook series and a slew of ASUS ROG laptops.

As for the latter, there’ll be a few redesigns taking place, namely for the ROG Zephyrus. The ROG Zephyrus G16 will now sport what ASUS calls a Slash Lightning array, which is basically a row of LED lights slashing diagonally across the lid. There are 15 preprogrammed animations so far, as well as a Sonic Match mode and Notifications mode.

This is also the thinnest and lightest Zephyrus laptop ever made, with only a 1.49cm thickness and 1.85kg weight. ASUS credits this to the new aluminum CNC-machined chassis, which allows for both weight reduction and toughness.

OLED displays will also finally debut on ROG laptops, with the Zephyrus G16 being fitted with ROG Nebula OLED displays. Other than that, it will feature a 2.5K resolution with 240Hz refresh rates, all within a 16:10 aspect ratio. It covers 100% DCI-P3, and is DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified.

All variants in the Zephyrus G16 are powered by Intel Core chipsets with AI acceleration. They are slated to arrive in Malaysia in the coming weeks, with the RM9,999 base model coming by the end of January. As for the other upscaled models, those will arrive by the middle of February. The official pricing of all the Zephyrus G16 models are as listed below:
