ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X to Arrive in Malaysia on 16 October

ASUS has confirmed that its latest gaming handhelds, the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, will officially be available in Malaysia starting October 16. First introduced globally back in June, both models were developed in collaboration with Xbox and mark ASUS’ push into the portable gaming space with Xbox Game Pass integration in mind.
The devices feature a newly redesigned chassis and updated palm rest for improved comfort during extended play sessions. The higher-end Ally X also introduces impulse triggers for better haptic feedback in supported games.

The ROG Xbox Ally is equipped with an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X-6400 RAM, and a 512GB M.2 SSD. It houses a 60Wh battery, which should provide reasonable endurance depending on usage.
Meanwhile, the ROG Xbox Ally X steps up with an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, offering more power and built-in AI capabilities. It’s paired with 24GB of faster LPDDR5X-8000 RAM and a larger 1TB M.2 SSD, backed by an 80Wh battery for longer gaming sessions.

The Ally X’s AI-focused processor includes a built-in NPU, which will support upcoming AI-based features from ASUS beginning early next year. Among the features confirmed are Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR) to upscale in-game visuals and Highlight Reels, which automatically capture key gameplay moments without manual input.
Both models are confirmed to hit store shelves across multiple regions, including Malaysia, though their official pricing have yet to be confirmed by ASUS Malaysia.
