ASUS announces its latest education centric laptops, available immediately for purchase

ASUS has recently announced the availability of its latest line of ruggedised laptops, which are aimed for education purposes and specifically the “K-12” group of students.

For those unaware, “K-12” is a term used internationally to define students who are between the ages of 5 and 12 years old. The term “K-12” would be defined as “kindergarten + 12 years”, hence “K-12”.

In the context of Malaysia, this would mean that these laptops are designed for students that are between kindergarten and primary school ages. Because of that, the 2 available laptops in this range (BR1102C and BR1102F) are designed to be rugged and durable to withstand accidental damage cases in the classroom or when used around. 

As mentioned above, there are two available versions: the BR1102C and BR1102F, the former a conventional clamshell laptop and the latter a hybrid: regular laptop mode and having the ability to flip 360 degrees and be used as a tablet.

Besides a rugged and durable exterior, the laptops have features that will be appreciated for classroom use, such as a long 12-hour battery life, full function USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C ports, and WiFi 5 support. 

Both laptops are also 11.6-inches in screen size, allowing for easy portability for students, and include options for a stylus as well as a 13 MP front facing camera.

The BR series runs on Windows 11 and is powered by Intel’s N100 processor, which will be sufficient for classroom usage. It also comes with 128GB of internal storage with an extra M.2 slot for potential future storage upgrades.

ASUS has stated that both the BR1102C and BR1102F are available for purchase nationwide right now, and they both come with complimentary 1-year on-site service coverage to reduce potential downtime.

The prices of the devices are RM2,099 for the BR1102C (conventional laptop), and RM2,399 for the BR1102F (hybrid laptop). For further information on the products, check out ASUS Malaysia’s website and Facebook Page.
