Apple has announced the latest iPad Pro models powered by the new M5 chip, launched alongside the 14-inch MacBook Pro.

The M5 chip brings a significant leap in performance, particularly for artificial intelligence and graphics-related tasks. It includes a 10-core GPU with a new architecture and integrated Neural Accelerators. According to Apple, this setup offers up to 3.5x the AI performance compared to the previous iPad Pro with the M4 chip, and up to 5.6x faster than the iPad Pro with the M1. The added AI performance is designed to support demanding tasks such as on-device image generation in apps like Draw Things, and video masking in DaVinci Resolve.

Graphics performance has also received an upgrade, with third-generation ray tracing that boosts 3D rendering speeds by up to 1.5x compared to the previous model. This makes the new iPad Pro more suitable for creative and gaming applications that rely on high visual fidelity.

Connectivity improvements come through the new Apple-designed N1 wireless chip, which supports Wi-Fi 7, and an updated C1X modem that delivers up to 50% faster cellular speeds than before.

The display remains a key feature, with both the 11-inch and 13-inch models equipped with Apple’s Ultra Retina XDR screen. The panel supports 120Hz refresh rates, 1,000 nits peak brightness for standard dynamic range (SDR) content, and 1,600 nits for HDR content.

The iPad Pro is available in two finishes—Space Black and Silver.

The iPad Pro with M5 chip is priced from RM4,499 for the 11-inch model with 256GB of storage, while the 13-inch variant starts at RM5,799 for the same storage configuration. As of now, the Apple Malaysia website has not confirmed pre-order or release dates, stating only “Check back later for availability.”
