‘Something Powerful Is Coming’: Apple Hints at New MacBook Pro with M5 Chip

Anticipation for a new Apple MacBook Pro powered by an M5 chip has heightened after Greg “Joz” Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, posted a 6-second video teaser of a product.
While the Apple executive didn’t explicitly say what the product was, it is highly likely that he is teeing up the launch of the MacBook Pro with the M5 chip. The video shows a silhouetted outline of a MacBook — the main indicator here is that the laptop is semi-folded and tilted at an angle, forming a ‘V’, which in Roman numerals symbolizes the number five.

Fueling the M5 speculation further is that Joswiak accompanied the video with the caption: “Mmmmm… something powerful is coming.” Look closely, and you’ll count five M’s in the initial interjection.
Reports of Apple’s next big launch have been swirling. Aside from the M5-powered MacBook Pro, the tech titan is also expected to unveil a refreshed iPad Pro and the next-generation Vision Pro, both powered by the same M5 chip.
Additionally, the MacBook Pro models featuring the more powerful M5 Pro and M5 Max chipsets could roll out as early as the first quarter of 2026.
