Apple Reportedly Planning to Introduce Ads on Apple Maps Next Year

Bloomberg technology journalist Mark Gurman, who specializes in the ins and outs of Apple, has confirmed in his Power On newsletter that the Cupertino-based brand is drawing up plans to start displaying ads on Apple Maps.
This will roll out as early as next year, with a business model allowing restaurants and other businesses to pay to have their establishments displayed more prominently within the app. According to Gurman, it will work similarly to Search Ads in the App Store, where developers have the option to pay for their software to appear in a promoted slot.
Moreover, Apple will reportedly employ the use of artificial intelligence to ensure that ad results are relevant and useful to the user.
