Aladdin1, a newly launched halal-oriented e-commerce platform
There’s a new e-commerce platform in town that was recently launched on 5 May 2021. Aladdin1 is a halal-oriented e-commerce platform launched by the Aladdin Group with the ambitious goal of helping SMEs grow their business locally and internationally; effectively connecting them to the 1.5 billion Muslim consumers across 45 countries.
All dreams must start with a first step. In its initial launch, Aladdin1 is currently only operating in Malaysia. Nevertheless, Aladdin1 has already secured domains in 13 other countries. Interested users can also register their interest to receive updates once launched in the respective countries.
Background
Aladdin1 was actually launched back in 2016 by Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor (Malaysia’s first astronaut). Aladdin1 was known as AladdinStreet during its launch and shared a similar goal of becoming a global halal-centric e-commerce platform.
Based on the official AladdinStreet Facebook page, it seems that the platform failed to fully take off and operations were ceased around March 2019.
Neverthless, the Aladdin Group is back once again and more determined than ever to succeed in this space. Having restructured and made necessary tweaks, we hope to see brighter days ahead for the platform!

Being a halal-centric platform we believe we’ll continue to see more fashion, health & beauty as well as food & beverage product listings in the near future.
