Akaso EK7000: 4K action camera with EIS for only RM299
Akaso has announced their latest action camera in Malaysia, the Akaso EK7000. The budget-friendly device offers plenty of features for budding creators and thrill seekers looking for an entry level action camera at a relatively affordable price.

The Akaso EK7000 is now available for sale in Malaysia on their official store on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop. According to Akaso Malaysia, each unit will come bundled with an accessory kit too, which includes mounts, clips, handlebar attachments tethers, adhesive tapes and a waterproof housing for easy out-of-the-box shooting.
Their press release states that it has a recommended retail price of RM299, though at time of writing the EK7000 is priced at RM399 on all platforms with discounts to drop it down to RM299.
Akaso EK7000 specs and features
The Akaso EK7000 might not offer the best specs, but at this price point it’s certainly not bad. It records footage at up to a 4K resolution at 30fps, while for stills the EK7000 can do 20MP photos. The EK7000 also comes with electronic image stabilisation to help get as shake-free footage as possible, while the super wide angle lens allows for cinematic and scenic shots.
On top of that, the EK7000 is waterproof up to 131 feet or 40 meters when paired with its protective case, meaning you can use it while snorkeling or diving for underwater shots. There’s also remote control and app control support if you need to shoot from a distance, as well as support for an external microphone for more flexibility. Other features of note include loop recording, time-lapse video, burst shots and time-lapse photos, with multiple resolutions to choose from from 4K30fps down to 720p120fps.
Keeping the lights on is a 1,050mAh battery, which Akaso says will be able to keep the EK7000 running for up to 90minutes while shooting in 4K. All videos are captured in the MOV format with photos in JPG, allowing for easy compatibility with your standard array of editing tools and apps.
Lastly, the UI on the EK7000 also comes with a wide range of preloaded languages as Akaso claims it was built for a global audience. As such, you’ll find not only English but also French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and more.
