AI leads the way for new Galaxy S24 Series; Live Translation, Generative Edits, and more
Samsung’s flagship contender for 2024 has finally received its anticipated launch with the unveiling of the Galaxy S24 Series. The top-tier series will remain in its usual format with three models: the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
While there isn’t too much of a revolutionary change in terms of design, much of the series’ enhancements comes in the form of AI integration, including real-time voice and text translations of phone calls, chat assistance, note assistance, photo generative edits, among others.
Here’s some of the new AI integrations you can expect on the S24 Series:
- Live Translate: A two-way real-time translation voice and text translation of a phone call, allowing you to breakdown language barriers instantly. For calls, all you simply need to do is speak into your phone, after which the message will be automatically translated into the desired language of the receiver.
- Chat Assist: Aside from just calls, the S24 Series will also translate incoming and outgoing chats in real-time, so there’s no need to rely on third party translation apps anymore. Furthermore, Writing Assist will help you formulate your text messages in your preferred tone.
- Note Assist: Your messy Notes app can be polished and organized swiftly thanks to Note Assist, complete with headings and bullet points in a variety of templates. You can also generate summaries from paragraphs of texts, making it easier to get to the gist of things.
- Generative Edits: Samsung’s new camera trick lies not in the hardware, but in AI Generative Edits. Remove unwanted objects, expand and re-position a subject, fill in the borders – the full works. There’s also a new Edit Suggestion, which will suggest recommended tweaks for your photos.
- Circle to Search: Circle to Search is a gesture-driven tool which allows users to search up anything on Google simply by circling anything on the Galaxy S24’s screen.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Specs
The Galaxy S24 Series remains largely the same as the S23 Series when it comes to form factor and size. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ maintains its rounded rectangular-ish shape; while the S24 Ultra sticks to its sharp rectangular edges with a built-in silo for the S-Pen, which will come in the box. The S24 Ultra is now also armoured with a titanium frame, promising to increase hardiness and durability.
A notable change is that the Galaxy S24 Ultra now features a 50MP telescope lens with 5x optical zoom, whereas the Galaxy S23 Ultra had a 10MP camera with 10x optical zoom. Also, peak brightness also gets a vast increase across the board with the S24 Series now hitting 2,600nits, versus the 1,750nits that was on the S23 Series.
If you’re wondering about processors, only the Ultra variant gets the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ will be fitted with Samsung’s proprietary Exynos 2400 processor instead.

There is a pre-order promo from now until 6th February 2024, where you can enjoy a storage upgrade worth RM500 for your device. That means you’ll be paying RM4,099 for the 512GB version of the S24, instead of its original retail price of RM4,599. The same goes as well for the S24+ and S24 Ultra.
