Acer’s New Swift Air 16 Is a 16-Inch Laptop We Can Finally Call Ultraportable

Acer’s next@acer 2025 Global Press Conference saw a host of new and refreshed products make their way to the catalogue. Alongside the next generation of the Predator and Nitro lineups, Acer also introduced its latest lightweight laptop, the Swift Air 16.
The newest entry in the Swift Air series is a Copilot+ PC designed to efficiently execute local AI applications with ease, all while maintaining low power consumption. The engine that makes this possible is the AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors. Specifically, the Swift Air 16 is offered in three CPU options: the Ryzen AI 7 350, Ryzen AI 5 340, and Ryzen AI 5 330.

Graphics, on the other hand, are handled by either the AMD Radeon 860M, 840M, or 820M integrated GPUs. Acer says the Swift Air 16 will be offered with up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB SSD.
There will be two screen options available, with the top variant sporting a 16″ AMOLED WQXGA+ (2880×1800) display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 400 nits brightness, topped off with 100% DCI-P3 for punchy colours. The alternative option features a 16″ WUXGA (1920×1200) display with a 60Hz refresh rate.

Despite its 16-inch dimensions, the Swift Air 16 stays true to its lightweight roots, with Acer claiming the laptop weighs under 1kg. This, they say, is thanks to its magnesium-alloy chassis, which offers both ruggedness and lightweight quality.
In terms of I/O, the laptop comes with a complete set of ports, including two USB Type-C ports, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, and an HDMI 1.4 port with HDCP support.
It also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity.

The Acer Swift Air 16 will be available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at a starting price of EUR 999 (~RM4,921.27). Acer Malaysia has not confirmed whether the Swift Air 16 will arrive in the country. If it does, the ballpark figure to expect would likely fall within the upper RM4K to lower RM5K range.
