Acer releases the all-new Ryzen 5000 powered Nitro 5
Acer Malaysia has just announced the launch of Nitro 5 laptops powered by Ryzen 5000 chipset (AMD’s latest range of processors).
This time round, Acer is offering up to 6 configurations to choose from. All of which features the latest Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors.

What’s new?
In comparison to the Nitro 5 (AN515-44-R1AZ) launched mid of last year, there are really no significant improvements aside from being able to enjoy the processing power of the latest Ryzen 5000 series processor.
Design Changes:
The Nitro 5 2021 design takes on a similar take as seen in the Asus ROG Phone 5. They’ve toned down on the gamer-centric tacky design by removing some of the red outlines and metal grills on the cover, allowing them to cater for a more mass market.
In addition, they’ve moved the power supply port from the right side to the back of the laptop. This is definitely a change that we agree with.
Performance
The improvement in performance is minimal unless opting for the higher-end configurations.
With that being said, those who can afford a higher-end gaming device will enjoy the processing power of a Ryzen 9 5900HX Octa-Core processor, Nvidia RTX 3080 and also a more crisp display QHD 2560 x 1440 165 Hz display.
About Ryzen 5000 Chipset:
The Nitro 5 (2021) is among the first laptop in Malaysia to feature the latest Ryzen 5000 series chipset (Lenovo Legion 5 also features this chipset).
Though not very significant, the Ryzen 5000 series has a slight edge over its Intel counterpart, making it the more preferred variant by gamers.

Final Thoughts:
Acer Nitro 5 really needs no introduction as it has managed to capture the hearts of fellow gamers in Malaysia. Thanks to its lower price point variant, casual gamers now has can enjoy the processing power of the Ryzen 5000 series chipset.
The subtle changes to its overall design is just an icing to the already wonderful cake.
