A New Vine for a New Era: diVine Brings Back Human-Made Internet Magic

By PriceShop News November 17, 2025

Vine is officially getting a second life, and it’s not coming from X or Elon Musk. Instead, the revival is led by Evan Henshaw-Plath, better known as Rabble, one of Twitter’s earliest employees. His new app, diVine, sets out to restore something many users feel the modern internet has lost: genuine, human-made content.

And he’s not doing it alone. Jack Dorsey, who co-founded Twitter, is backing the project through his nonprofit “and Other Stuff”, which recently received a US$10 million grant to support work around open internet technologies.

Rabble’s mission is straightforward… and a little rebellious. He says today’s social platforms are drowning in AI-generated “slop,” while users deal with “enshittification,” where profit and algorithms are treated as more important than the people using the platforms.

diVine is positioned as an antidote to that. The app actively blocks suspected AI-generated videos and only allows content that’s verified as human-recorded. New uploads go through verification technology from the Guardian Project to confirm they were genuinely captured on a smartphone.

Bringing Back the Best of Vine’s Golden Era

diVine is bringing back more than 100,000 archived Vine videos, restored from an old backup created before Vine’s shutdown. Because many of these clips originally belonged to creators who may not have had access to their accounts for years, copyright protection becomes especially important.

That’s why diVine ensures that creators still own their copyrights and gives them the ability to file DMCA takedowns or verify their identity to reclaim and manage their old Vine accounts.

Rabble believes the appetite for human-first content is stronger than ever. As social feeds get noisier and more AI-heavy, diVine taps into nostalgia for a simpler era where you followed people you actually cared about and every post came from a real human being.

For anyone who misses Vine’s chaotic energy, quick jokes and timeless clips, diVine feels like the reboot that understands what made Vine… Vine.
